8 Sentence Sunday

A little bit between the villain and her minion. Enjoy more 8 sentence snippets on the Dieselpunks web site.

“I hate coffee. It’s Jasmine green tea. Tell me what you’ve discovered if anything.” She stood above him for a moment and then took a seat across from him.
John sniffed at the tea and scrunched up his nose. “It smells like a lady’s boudoir. Truth is I couldn’t stand hanging around Miss Winsome and her friends...”
“Wait, the girl I had dangling from Persephone’s ladder is named Miss Winsome?”

A snippet from Miss Winsome and Scientific Society. If you like to read others or particitpate here is the link. Dieselpunks is a great site.

She crossed her arms. “Why are you and your brother’s cycles so noisy? What are you doing here? You’re suppose to be watching Roosevelt and reporting back to me in two days. It’s then that we make our next plan.”
“The board and Senator Roosevelt are not staying at Old Faithful; tents aren’t good enough for them. Guess burning that hotel was a mistake as the old codgers are all going to the Canyon Hotel. And, if you must know, we improved our steamo’cycles to make the marvelous zooming rat-a-tat pop noise. I’m not telling you how we did it, ‘cause we’re going to sell our noise invention.”

8 Sentence Sunday on Dieselpunks Snippet

I have added a section to Miss Winsome and the Scientific Society. Before it was a few paragraphs but now is a complete scene.

“Uncle Teddy, come! Look! Cowboys. We’re rescued.” She sneezed four times.

“Evelyn, we were never in danger and therefore, we are not in need of being rescued.”

“Yes, Uncle Teddy, but do come look. They’re magnificent!”

He put down a file and joined Evelyn. “The horses or the cowboys.”

7.7.7. Challenge

I was challenged by Sarah Zama, The Old Shelter, and Jack Taylor, Beyond the Rails, to participate in the 7.7.7. challenge.
The 777 challenge requires you go to Page 7 of your work-in-progress, scroll down to Line 7 and share the next 7 sentences in a blog post. Once you have done this, you can tag 7 other bloggers to do the same with their work-in-progress.
Here is my seven:
They were all smartly dressed in traveling clothes with odd embellishments of hooks and loops. The two boys carried leather backpacks with gears, tools with dials, and metal tubs dangle off in different locations and sparkled in the dappled sunlight. Miss Winsome's bag was normal compared to the two girl's large shoulder slung bags, which were also adorned with tools and gears. She stared and instantly blushed when one of the boys called to her.
"Miss, are you heading to Old Faithful today?" said the tallest boy with sweep of blond hair covering one eye.
"Yes, my uncle..." she stopped what she said and looked around her for him.
Her uncle was at the storage car directing the care and transportation of his prized mechanical horse.

I pass the challenge to...Je ne sais pas.

Happy Fourth of July from Cody, WY
